Shower Power!

When my friend Dena asked if she could host a baby shower for us, I wasn't immediately a fan of the idea...I always thought showers were for first borns, and not subsequent punks...I eventually warmed up to the idea of having some friends over if for no other reason to hang out and talk babies! So, earlier this month Dena and some good friends stopped by to help us celebrate the arrival of Sophie and CJ....and their generosity was overwhelming...

We had a great time playing shower games like guess the baby food...

and guess the candy melted in the baby diaper...

JR took this one a little too far though...he thought you were supposed to TASTE the melted candy bar in the diaper....this guys is all mine ladies....oh yeah....all mine....

Others opted simply to smell and guess...a wise decision...

We got some wonderful gifts, like this infant monitoring system...this will come in very handy!

..and of course none of this fun would have been had without my best good friend of 15+ years, Dena...she rocks...

I got a call from another friend of mine, and current coworker of JR to alert me to a surprise shower they were going to throw for JR...I thought it was a SPECTACULAR idea! How often do Daddy's get to be the center of attention? Here's a shot of JR as he entered the conference room, completely unaware of what awaited him....I call this look "What the?????"

...just look at this adorable diaper cake that was hand made for us....so sweet!

....the turnout was overwhelming....I'm not sure he grasped how many of his coworkers liked him enough to spare part of their day in honor of his ability to procreate...lol

...he was humbled...and it took me the better part of the evening putting all this loot away...wow.

..but he did his thing...going through gift after gift, saying his thank you's along the way...oh, to be the center of attention!

...his favorite gifts were all the clothes with reference to "Daddy...." on them...awwwwwwwwwww

...and these plushies...you KNOW they must be soft and cuddly when a grown man snuggles with them in front of everyone he works with! lol

...the generosity seemed to have no end...I can't even begin to explain how blessed we feel to be surrounded by such caring and sharing people...

...and we will put every single heart-felt gift to good use....I already have big plans for this Radio Flier...it will be making appearances in many future photo ops ;)

Finally, my own workplace through a surprise shower for a coworker and myself last week...we actually have the same April due date! ....and wouldn't you know it, she had her daughter this past Friday, and here I still sit...all pregnant and stuff....life is so unfair! Again, we were blessed with more support than we could have ever asked for....

This whole experience has been an awakening for the good and graciousness in the people we share our lives with...we can't thank you all enough for the time and energy you all put into celebrating the additions to our family...we are so blessed! Thank YOU for all you are and all you do....

Happy Trails,

Wow--- what do you still need? I may just have to get creative.

I love your hairdo by the way...I've never seen a prettier lady with twins on board!
